The Sizing Challenge
The number one reason for returns and disappointment in the shopping agent community is incorrect sizing. Chinese sizing standards differ significantly from Western ones, and even within China, different factories use different measurement systems. A "Large" T-shirt from one seller might have a forty-two-inch chest, while a "Large" from another might measure thirty-eight inches. Without standardized sizing, buyers are essentially guessing unless they know how to decode the charts.
The Lovegobuy Spreadsheet addresses this problem with a community-driven sizing database. For every item listed, we compile measurements submitted by verified buyers along with their height, weight, and fit preference. This creates a profile-based recommendation system where you can find buyers with similar body types and see what size they chose and how it fit. Over time, this database becomes increasingly accurate as more community members contribute their data.
This guide teaches you how to take your own body measurements correctly, how to read Chinese sizing charts, and how to use the spreadsheet's sizing database to make informed decisions. By the end, you will have a personal measurement card that you can reference for every future purchase.

Taking Accurate Body Measurements
Accurate measurements start with the right tools. You need a flexible measuring tape, preferably one used by tailors rather than a rigid construction tape. Stand in front of a mirror wearing fitted clothing or underwear only. Do not measure over bulky clothing as this adds inaccurate thickness. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight enough to compress flesh.
The essential measurements for clothing are chest, shoulder width, sleeve length, waist, hip, inseam, and outseam. For chest, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it parallel to the floor. For shoulder width, measure from the outer edge of one shoulder bone to the other across your upper back. For sleeve length, measure from the shoulder bone to your wrist bone with your arm slightly bent. For waist, measure at your natural waistline, typically the narrowest part of your torso.
Record these measurements in both inches and centimeters since Chinese sellers predominantly use centimeters. Save them in a note on your phone so you can reference them instantly when browsing the spreadsheet. Update your measurements every six months if your weight fluctuates significantly.

Reading Chinese Sizing Charts
Chinese sizing charts typically list measurements in the order: shoulder width, chest, length, sleeve length. Some charts also include a recommended height and weight range, though these are often inaccurate for Western body types. The most reliable data points are the flat-lay measurements, which represent the garment laid flat and measured across.
When comparing your body measurements to a garment's flat-lay measurements, you need to add ease or wearing comfort. For a fitted T-shirt, add one to two inches to your chest measurement. For an oversized hoodie, add four to six inches. The spreadsheet includes a "Fit Type" tag for each item indicating whether it is Slim, Regular, Relaxed, or Oversized. Use this tag to determine how much ease to add.
Shoe sizing is equally confusing. Chinese shoe sizes are based on foot length in millimeters. A size 270 means the shoe is designed for a foot that is 270 millimeters long. The spreadsheet includes a shoe size conversion chart that maps Chinese sizes to US, UK, and EU equivalents. For sneakers, we generally recommend ordering your true US size. For boots and dress shoes, consider ordering half a size up to accommodate thicker socks.
Good to Know
Always double-check the size chart before ordering. Chinese sizing often runs smaller than Western standards. When in doubt, size up and reference community reviews for fit guidance.
Using the Community Sizing Database
The community sizing database is the most powerful tool in the Lovegobuy ecosystem. For each item in the spreadsheet, click the "Sizing Reviews" link to see a table of verified buyers with their stats and chosen size. Look for buyers within two inches of your height and ten pounds of your weight. If three buyers with similar stats all chose a size Medium and reported a good fit, you can be confident that Medium is the right choice for you too.
Pay attention to fit descriptors in the reviews. Terms such as "TTS" (True To Size), "size up for oversized fit," and "size down for cropped look" provide context that raw numbers cannot. Some buyers also upload fit photos showing how the garment drapes on their body. These photos are invaluable for visualizing fit before you commit to a purchase.
If you cannot find a sizing review for an item you want, you have two options. First, post a sizing question in the community Discord; members are usually responsive and helpful. Second, order the item in two sizes and plan to return the one that does not fit. Lovegobuy's return policy allows for size exchanges within seventy-two hours of warehouse arrival, though you will pay for return domestic shipping.
